As an budding makeup artist I feel it’s my duty to try out different brands and products as well as get a few recommendations from friends, family and fellow followers. So this very small haul from Colour Pop was a recommendation from a few ladies from a BoxyCharm group on fb that I’m in. I became familiar with colour pop in makeup groups on Facebook, and on Instagram as well as receiving a few items in my boxycharm boxes.
Today I received some goodies in the mail and I’m very excited to have them and test them out. I definitely will be ordering another one soon. Found out that this palette has been restocked snag if you’re interested.
I’m so loving this beautiful rose packaging and that the names of each shade is printed on the inside of the packaging as well as on the back, and outer packaging box.
As you can see these shades are simply nice and I believe they will look amazing on everyone. This is a warm- toned palette with shades of peach, pinks, plum, rose gold, gold and pops of coral and copper. A few of the shimmery shades were drier and looser with sheerer coverage that you don’t typically get with colourpop, to me the shade called (GAL) was a bit difficult to use without a base in my opinion.
Overall, the color scheme of the palette works for me,though I do wish for more contrast or better lighter shades to mix with the more mid-tone shades. Really needs more matte shades as well with all the shimmery shades to make it even out.
This will definitely be a treat for my lips. Definitely love a good clear poppin lip and it’s nice to finally try out this Shayla X Ultra Glossy lip gloss in Neat Freak.
Why I picked this one is cause I love a great almost clear gloss. It does has a little bit of a tint of gold shimmer, but for the most part it’s not tacky or sticky and glides on beautifully. Gives my lips a nice pop of shine without my lips being weight down and feeling heavy. Nice scent as well.
Bottom line is that I love both palette and gloss and for a girl that’s just building her colourpop collection definitely happy that I added these to the budding collection. I paid $16 for the palette and $6.50 for the gloss…that’s not bad considering I’ve paid more for products that I hate.
If you have this palette or gloss please share your thoughts.
