There’s nothing more fitting for summer than a big bright bold palette that says… SUMMER HAS ARRIVED IN FULL EFFECT. I was one of the lucky ones that was able too get this before it sold out…after playing around with it I find that it’s a cool bright palette next too my js jawbreaker palette.
This a great colourful palette with a lot of accent shades to compliment your everyday neutrals. It definitely can be used as a stand-alone palette, if you are not afraid of colour. With the right eyeshadow primer your look can have longevity.
Pros: A great variety of colours -mix of finishes -supporting a great cause -a big mirror -they blend nicely -they are vibrant.
Cons: -the fall-out can be prominent (best to do the eyes first or use fingers for the more fallout shades) -not very travel-friendly, regarding the size -I’m missing an olive green to compliment the murky olive Thrive shade and also sky blue or a tiffany blue matte Shades Liberation, Stonewall and Healing look beautiful in the pan, but they are very chunky and more of a topper, rather than metallics shades.
They definitely need a base shade under them. Liberation, especially, is beautiful with a strong iridescent green shift. 1978 is a true hero shade. It is an iridescent topper that can transform base shadow. It looks incredible over brown.
Satin shimmers (E.g., Culture, Activism, Make Magic) are more matte on the eyes. The two beautiful blue shimmers Rise up and Harmony have some strong fallout, best used with fingers or really good brush for such formula. Overall, a great palette for the price.
You get 25 shades for $20, the shadows themselves are good quality (although I recommend a good primer for making them pop and also for the longevity). You also get what you see, the boldness of the yellow in the pan definitely transfers on the eyelids. The only downside would be the fallout and perhaps the fact that you probably need to pull out an extra palette of neutrals for everyday wear.
I’m definitely loving this Morphe Living In Color Palette. Trying out the skinandco Truffle Therapy Illuminating Skin Refresh Mist… which smells so heavenly. And loving on Becca Cosmetics Hydra Mist Setting Powder.
